Plan Review Services, Tribal Correctional Facility, Yakama Nation, WA
BHC provided complete plan review services to the Yakama Nation's 38,000 square foot corrections facility. Services provided included coordination and review of design drawings from several firms as well as shop drawings. Coordination with BIA reviewers and tribe’s representative was required to work through conflicting code requirements between the International Building Code and the NFPA 5000 which was used by the BIA. On site meetings were conducted during time of plan review as well as several requested final walk throughs to accompany the architect, BIA inspector and the tribe’s representative.
Building Department Services, Tribal Correctional Facility (27,000 square feet, $11M valuation), Puyallup Tribe, WA
BHC provided complete building department services which included building and fire code plan review including structural and non structural fire and life safety, in addition to building, plumbing and mechanical inspections. As part of our contract, BHC teamed with two local firms to provide all materials testing and building commissioning services. BHC worked closely with GC and the tribe’s representatives to provide an extra level of contractor quality control in addition to the regulatory role as building inspectors. The client and GC acknowledged this approach saved time and costly errors. During the plan review stage BHC plan reviewers networked with BIA plan reviewers and architects of record to assure substantial code compliance not just with the International Building Codes but the NFPA 5000 Building Code as well.
Electrical Inspection Services, Nisqually Tribe of Indians, WA
BHC provided all the electrical inspections on the new 15,000 square foot correctional facility, waste water treatment plant upgrades and new booster pump. In addition, the same services were provided for the tribe’s new administration building and market/office complex.
Plan Review Services, Snoqualmie Casino, Snoqualmie Tribe, WA
BHC staff provided complete plan review services to the Snoqualmie Tribe for a 1.01 million square foot development that included a casino, restaurant, offices and parking garage. Services provided included coordination of design drawings from several firms as well as shop drawings.
Plan Review Services, Quinault Indian Nation, Ocean Shores, WA
BHC staff provided complete plan review services to the Quinault Indian Nation for a 170,278 square foot development that included a casino, hotel, restaurant, and offices. Services provided included coordination of design drawings from several firms as well as shop drawings, several on-site visits during construction, and final walk-through for Certificate of Occupancy issuance. The building is comprised of three construction types: light gage steel construction, platform stick frame, and modular factory assembled structure.
Plan Review and Building Inspection Services, Chapel and Multi-Purpose Building, Southern Ute Tribe, CO
BHC staff provided plan review and building inspections services for a Multi-purpose and Chapel facilities. The Multi-purpose facility is proposed to be a semi-circular block structure with a gross area approximately 15,230 sq/ft. The Chapel facility is a circular block structure with a gross area approximately 4,873 sq/ft. The buildings are equipped with current technologies, including a boiler and chiller HVAC system with comprehensive fire suppression and alarm systems.
